The Director of Logistics is responsible for the leadership of the comprehensive strategic and tactical transportation needs of the company. Global Logistics Manager


Responsible for key commercial components of global management of transportation, logistics and the customer supply chain for Performance Fibers, Wood Procurement and Corporate Office to achieve the highest value at the lowest cost while achieving world class levels of customer service and satisfaction.  Provides functional direction to all Rayonier Advanced Materials facilities relative to inbound and outbound transportation and distribution.  Scope includes sustaining and improving processes to optimize costs and service provided to external and internal customers.              

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (Logistics related preferred).    MBA or Master’s degree in Transportation Management preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in transportation or supply chain management.
  • Minimum of 3 years contract negotiation experience. 
  • Knowledge of domestic and/or international logistics, transportation regulations, sales and marketing procedures, finance and accounting principles, order flow management, inventory management and warehousing is essential.  Knowledge of international culture and business practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency with computer systems is required.

Qualifications: A degree in Logistics, Business Management or other related discipline. 15 plus years of management experience in a transportation logistics environment with at least five years in a freight brokerage environment. Three (3) plus years experience implementing continuous improvement programs. Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels, in support of our customer relationships; demonstrated self-confidence, particularly with client relationships; strong relationship building skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, teammates, customers, and the general public. A proven track record of mentoring and developing promotability with direct reports and subordinates. Expert knowledge level of at least one TMS, and the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
