Director of Operations 
Grand Prarie, TX - RSR Group, Inc.

 

RSR Group, Inc., a national wholesaler of shooting sports merchandise located in Grand Prairie, Texas, is seeking a Director of Operations. This position is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations for a high volume, multi-shift distribution center with up to 250 employees by providing strategic and operational leadership. This includes inventory management, merchandise receipt, product placement and shipment of merchandise to customers. In addition, the Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the facility and property as well as overseeing BATF traces, safety compliance and building security. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Director of Operations must have seven years of management experience in a similar working environment.  Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, materials management or a related field of study is required.  MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Knowledge of and experience with conveyor systems is preferred. This individual must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure instructions and must be able to effectively write reports and correspondence.  The Director of Operations must have the ability to speak effectively to customers, employees and co-workers.  Computer proficiency in Word and Excel is required. The Director of Operations must possess strong leadership and analytical abilities and be able to manage multiple priorities.  This position requires occasional traveling.

Fleet Operations Manager
Somerset, NJ - Budd Van Lines

 

Business Purpose of Job:
Supervise Fleet Operations staff, and monitor qualifications for all company drivers and Independent Contractors to ensure all DOT requirements are met, quality standards are maintained and work is completed in a cost-effective manner.
 
Responsibilities:
Supervise: 5-6 people.
Financial:  $2,500,000 - $4,000,000

Tasks:
  1. Process monthly logs
  2. Monitor Fuel Tax Liability 
  3. Renew registrations
  4. Ensure Fuel Permitting is completed
  5. Investigate and Report accidents
  6. Select vendors for Tractors, Trailers, Vehicles, decals, etc.
  7. Manage Garage Operation: Direct Supervision, PMI Schedule, Parts Procurement, Repairs
  8. Oversee Independent Contractor Agreements: Title & Registration, Paint & Decal, insurance verification, etc.
  9. Perform departmental performance assessments and disciplinary actions
  10. Develop, implement, and maintain Service Center Driver Safety Manual

  16. Enforces safety policies by conducting inspections, reporting statistics, counseling managers and employees.
  17. Ensure communication with remote Service Centers, Planning, Risk Management, Finance, and other departments throughout the Company are maintained effectively
  18. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising Management on needed actions.
  19. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  20. Maintains Fleet Department staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees.
  21. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  22. Other tasks as assigned or requested by manager

Qualifications:

Experience:  2-5 years management experience, 3 + years Logistics and Transportation Experience dealing with Fleet Operations, Strong DOT & State Regulatory experience including logs, permits, drug & alcohol compliance, accident reporting, etc.
Training/education:  4-Year Degree in Business or Equivalent, Preferred
Licenses/credentials:  Computer skills: Word, EXCEL
Other:  MS Office, QuickBooks, Strong communication and writing skills
 
Success measures/factors:
  1. Cost-effectiveness of services rendered

Director of National Operations
Somerset, NJ - Budd Van Lines


Business Purpose of Job:

To ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, quality and effective delivery of services to our external and internal clientele. 

Tasks:
  1. Directly oversee all service center-level operations.
  2. Develop and maintain operational procedures and metrics to identify, measure and improve service center operations.
  3. Oversee, control, and produce appropriate reporting on all service center expenses.
  4. Work with Director of Facilities and President/COO to establish new service centers.  Responsible for all staffing and labor sourcing for new service centers.
  5. Directly oversee all operational field staff.  Responsible for fleet/driver  training, development, and maintenance.
  6. Develop and maintain operational procedures and materials to identify, measure, and improve fleet performance.
  7. Oversee, control, and produce appropriate reporting on all driver expenses to include use of packing materials and hotel usage.
  8. Work with Director of Quality Control on the development of the Driver Metric Program, and ensure it’s use in driver development.
  9. Direct the recruiting, on-boarding, and training of new drivers.
  10. Work with Fleet Department on the continued development, maintenance, and compliance with fleet safety initiatives, and compliance with Federal DOT regulations.
  11. Work with Fleet Department to ensure proper tracking and maintenance of all fleet equipment, and acquisition of additional fleet equipment as business cycles and operational demands require.
  12. Create and manage a driver liaison/assistance program that ensures appropriate follow-up on collective fleet and individual driver concerns and issues.
  13. Direct the scheduling, programming, and execution of quarterly driver forums.
  14. All other projects and duties assigned by President/COO.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5-7 years of managerial, HHG and experience
Training/education: Bachelors Degree or higher
Licenses/credentials: Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Data Base Management
Other: Excellent communication skills, Self-motivated and detail oriented

Client Services Team Leader

Business Purpose of Job: 

Responsible for providing outstanding quality and efficient service and support to clients and customers through the daily management of a team to include hiring, motivating, recognizing and rewarding, coaching, counseling, training, and problem solving. Additionally, responsible for assisting Management with development, analyses, and implementation of staffing, training, and reward/recognition programs.
 
Tasks:
  1. Ensure total functionality of all components of the move process within the team by possessing full knowledge of surveying, estimating, move coordinating, coding, rating, auditing, and claims.   Ensure accuracy and efficiency of all processes as they relate to the special needs of each transferee , client, the Company and its philosophy, policies, practices, and procedures.
  2. Maintain a fully staffed and trained Client Service Team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and developing staff in conjunction with Company vision, mission, policies, practices, and procedures.  
  3. Maintain staff performance results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance results.
  4. Ensure that each team member possesses a complete knowledge of their functions and how they relate to the entire team mission by maintaining a full training program for each function within the team and insuring that training is provided at the time of hire and reinforced throughout the year.
  5. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with sales executives and management from National Sales, Director of Client Services, and Vice President of National Services by scheduling and participating periodic meetings to review each contract, discussing issues and aspects of the contract as they relates to each function of the team as well as driver profitability and satisfaction.
  6. Assess customer satisfaction by reviewing quality assurance survey results and other key performance indicators.  Resolve client and customer dissatisfactions by planning and directing the receipt, investigation, evaluation, and settling of complains.  Personally resolve difficult situations.  Assist in development and implementation of policies, practices, and procedures to address client and customer satisfaction.
  7. Minimize audits by ensuring all processes are performed accurately and correctly.  In event of audit, analyze all incoming audits by determining the reason for the discrepancy and implementing procedures to eliminate a reoccurrence.  Establish matrix to track, rank, and score each component of the team and implement remediation when and where necessary.
  8. Increase company awareness of superior customer service by positively interfacing with other departments and all service centers in all matters and requirements of each contract within the team.
  9. Oversee third party services as they relate to the relocation process.  
  10. Troubleshoot problems related to scheduling moves, claims, billing, and third party services.
  11. Develop department reports to analyze all customer service related issues including appropriate work assignments, account trends, and quality of customer service.
  12. Participate in contract committee meetings and perform related responsibilities.
  13. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
  14. Represent the department at inter-company, account/client meetings; attend occasional off-site meetings and training sessions. Travel when necessary and as required by client.
  15. Other tasks as assigned or requested by Management.

Qualifications:

Experience:  6-8 years in Moving and Storage Industry, serving in a variety of roles, with 3-5 years management experience preferred.
Training/education:  4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses/credentials:  Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and other Windows based software.  Certified Moving Consultant from American Moving and Storage Association and / or Certified Relocation Professional from Employee Relocation Council preferred.
Other:  Proven leadership experience.  Ability to develop and motivate a team.  Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.  Ability to provide and support a vision and direction.  Excellent communication and writing skills.
Travel:  As required by clients and clients' needs.  

Success measures/factors:

  1. Client satisfaction rating
  2. Customer / transferee satisfaction rating 
  3. Team efficiency scores (team staff cost per $100 team revenue; days to settle claims; claims closed, etc)
